Our Philosophy
Harmony Academy is dedicated to improving the care and education of children six weeks to 12 years of age. We believe that early childhood is a time of exploration and discovery. We know that young children learn by “hands on” experiences. Our staff is highly qualified to enhance each child’s growth and development in a stimulating atmosphere of warmth and understanding. Our ultimate goal is to allow each child to develop as an individual as well as part of a group in a happy, safe, and nurturing environment.
Our Curriculum
At Harmony Academy, we utilize the HighReach Learning® curriculum and the Creative Curriculum to aid in the efficient advancement of our children.
The High Reach® curriculum is based on the philosophy that children learn best through hands-on activities that address the needs of the whole child. This approach is grounded in sound child development theory and appropriate practices. Themes are used to introduce information and learning takes place as a child explores and manipulates real objects and events.
The Creative Curriculum® focuses on promoting children’s social-emotional development and learning in the core areas of literacy, mathematics, science, and social studies. It combines the latest research and the freshest ideas into a forward-thinking approach to learning.
To facilitate an age appropriate curriculum, we have customized lessons for each program as well as separate classrooms.
