Pre-Kindergarten Program

Harmony Academy’s expanded pre-kindergarten program provides a challenging, multi-sensory, stimulating environment for your student. Pre-kindergarten children are adventurous and eager to experience and master new skills. Our curriculum encourages success, self-confidence, social and academic development.

• At Harmony Academy, we believe that when children feel good about themselves, they are more likely to achieve academic and social success. Our teachers encourage positive self-image through praise, positive reinforcement and recognition.
• Learning is encouraged through the use of learning centers which allow students to explore materials and learn through creative play.
• Our pre-kindergarten educational curriculum offers instruction in math, including number recognition, counting, shapes, likes and differences and beginning simple addition. Language instruction includes introduction to the alphabet, reading skills through stories and games and listening comprehension. Science and social studies are incorporated in our lesson plans through observation and sharing. Art, music, thinking and gross motor activities are incorporated in our lesson plans and are included in our daily activities.
• Pre-kindergarten students will enjoy visits to our student center for meals and student activities including story time and supervised computer access.
• In our outdoor play area, pre-kindergarten students are surrounded with safe, age appropriate toys that encourage active play.
• All teachers are trained in CPR and first aid.
• Parental involvement is encouraged — parents are always welcomed at Harmony Academy.
